About ISS – Ínclita Seaweed Solutions
ISS is an innovative and sustainable Portuguese marine biotech startup dedicated to the discovery, development, production and commercialisation of sustainable and innovative ingredients derived from seaweeds, tailored to the needs of customers in cosmetics, nutraceuticals and pet care. ISS is a spin-off from CIIMAR and is well funded and supported by a lead investor, which is a sizeable independent VC firm in Portugal with proven experience in successfully propelling Iberian startups into international markets.
Role summary
This role is for a creative and communications professional responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote ISS’s innovative seaweed-based ingredients. You must also be comfortable creating social media content, sales materials (e.g., presentations and flyers), technical documentation, product marketing, managing marketing automation tools, managing event presence, and managing our website. You will work alongside an experienced and engaged team in close collaboration with the Business Development Manager and the Business Development team.
You will enhance ISS’s brand presence, understand target markets, and drive business growth through effective marketing campaigns.
Where do you fit in?
You will drive ISS’s marketing and communications efforts by overseeing the creation of engaging content and materials, conducting market research, and drafting outbound outreach campaigns. You will make a measurable contribution to ISS’s market understanding and customer engagement. You will represent ISS in various marketing channels, ensuring our innovative solutions are effectively communicated to a wide range of audiences.
What is the role?
- Marketing Strategy: Shape and implement ISS’s marketing strategies to promote brand, products and people.
- Marketing and Communication: Lead marketing and cross-channel communication strategies and processes of development.
- Market Intelligence & Research: Drive a deep understanding of core markets and target audiences by conducting structured market research, generating actionable insights, and identifying growth opportunities to effectively inform and tailor marketing and communication strategies.
- Content Creation: Develop engaging content for social media, sales materials (e.g., presentations and flyers), and our website.
- Design: Utilize basic design skills to create visually appealing materials for various marketing channels.
- Outbound Campaigns: Draft and implement outbound reach campaigns to attract new customers and partners.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making and marketing planning.
What do we need from you?
To succeed in this role, you will have the following:
Skills:
- Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) in marketing, content creation, WordPress, marketing automation and AI tools and basic design skills.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, product marketing and digital marketing strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English first).
- Ability to perform market research and analyze data.
- Creative mindset with attention to detail.
- A plus: Experience in biotechnology, life sciences or related industries.
