ISS – Ínclita Seaweed Solutions participated in Cosmetorium 2026, held on 21–22 October in Barcelona, Spain, alongside its distributor, OQEMA Iberia.
As one of Spain’s key meeting points for the cosmetics and personal care industry, the event provided an opportunity for ISS to showcase its portfolio of seaweed-based ingredients, share its expertise in seaweed-based innovation and connect with industry professionals to explore new collaboration opportunities.
Highlighting the potential of seaweed for cosmetic innovation
During Cosmetorium 2026, Helena Amaro, R&D Manager at ISS, delivered a presentation entitled “Seaweed is not just an ingredient: it is a platform for next-generation cosmetic innovation.” Her presentation explored how ISS transforms a single raw material into a diverse range of active ingredients through its new biorefinery.
By controlling the entire process, from raw seaweed to the final ingredient, ISS can unlock the potential of seaweed for different cosmetic applications. This approach supports the InAlgae® range and enables the development of fully customised ingredients tailored to the needs, formats and positioning of each brand.
Showcasing seaweed-based ingredients and exploring new opportunities
Throughout the two-day event, the ISS team joined forces with OQEMA Iberia to showcase the company’s portfolio of seaweed-based ingredients and engage with professionals from the cosmetics and personal care industry. These interactions provided an opportunity to present ISS’s solutions, exchange insights on emerging formulation needs and discuss potential applications for seaweed-based ingredients.
Alongside the InAlgae® range, ISS highlighted its ability to develop customised ingredients adapted to the specific requirements of different cosmetic brands. Supported by its new biorefinery, this approach offers flexibility in ingredient development and creates opportunities to collaborate on differentiated solutions for cosmetic formulations.
